About this product

Amoxil Caps 500mg contain amoxicillin, a penicillin antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections, including those of the ear, nose, throat, skin, and urinary tract. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. The usual dosage for adults and children over 40 kg is 500 mg every 8 hours or 875 mg every 12 hours, depending on the severity of the infection. For children under 40 kg, the dosage is based on body weight. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and rash. Serious side effects may include severe allergic reactions, liver problems, and a severe intestinal condition (Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea). Patients with a history of kidney disease, liver disease, or mononucleosis should use this medication with caution. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their healthcare provider before using Amoxil. It is important to complete the full course of treatment to prevent antibiotic resistance.

How to take it

In Adults, 750 to 1750 mg/day in divided doses every 8 to 12 hours. In Pediatric Patients over 3 Months of Age, 20 to 45 mg/kg/day in divided doses every 8 to 12 hours. Refer to full prescribing information for specific dosing regimens. The upper dose for neonates and infants aged 3 months or younger is 30 mg/kg/day divided every 12 hours. Dosing for H.

Do not use if

Amoxicillin tablets are contraindicated in patients who have experienced a serious hypersensitivity reaction (e.g., anaphylaxis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome) to amoxicillin tablets or to other β-lactam antibacterial drugs (e.g., penicillins and cephalosporins).
