Aprovasc is a combination medication containing irbesartan and amlodipine, used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Irbesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that prevents blood vessel constriction, while amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels. Together, they help lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart-related complications. The usual dosage is one tablet taken once daily, with or without food. Common side effects include dizziness, headache, swelling of the legs or ankles, and fatigue. Serious side effects may include severe allergic reactions, liver problems, and significant drops in blood pressure.
