Atacand 8mg contains candesartan cilexetil, which belongs to a group of medicines called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It works by relaxing and widening blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood and supply it to the whole body evenly. It is primarily prescribed for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults and children aged 1 to 17 years, and it may also be used to treat certain types of heart failure in adults.
