Canesten cream provides fast, soothing relief from irritation caused by fungal infections of the skin. Containing 1% Clotrimazole an antifungal used to treat yeast and fungal skin infections like thrush, athletes foot, nappy rash and balanitis. How to use Adults and children: Wash your hands before applying. You will also need to wash the infected area and allow it to dry. Once the area of skin is dry, apply a thin layer of cream two to three times a day. Treatment should continue during and after the infection has cleared to ensure it does not return. This is usually 2 weeks for candida infections like vaginal thrush and four weeks for other infections like ringworm, jock itch, athletes foot etc. because fungal spores can be very persistent on the skin. Whilst this product can be used to soothe and treat irritation caused by external vaginal thrush in patients under 60 years of age you may find Canesten 2% cream much more effective.
