Proscar (finasteride) tablets 28's

Proscar prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body. DHT is involved in the development of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Proscar is indicated for the treatment and control of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in patients with an enlarged prostate to:

• cause regression of the enlarged prostate, improve urinary flow and improve the symptoms associated with BPH
• reduce the incidence of acute urinary retention and the need for surgery including transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) and prostatectomy.

Take Proscar exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take it in larger amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label. Take this medicine with a full glass of water. Proscar can be taken with or without food. Take the medicine at the same time each day. Proscar should never be taken by a woman or a child. Finasteride can be absorbed through the skin, and women or children should not be permitted to handle Proscar tablets.
