About this product
Shanchol is an oral cholera vaccine used to prevent cholera in epidemic, endemic, or humanitarian emergency contexts. It is a killed whole-cell bivalent vaccine containing Vibrio cholerae O1 (serotypes Inaba and Ogawa, and biotypes classical and El Tor) and Vibrio cholerae O139. The vaccine is administered orally in a single-dose vial
Dosage/Directions
Dosage: One dose of 1.5 ml administered orally
Frequency: Usually a single dose is sufficient, but in certain contexts, a second dose may be given 14 days later
Directions: Shake the vial, squirt the entire contents into the mouth, and swallow. Do not administer by parenteral route.
Side Effects
